It was with deep sorrow that Abkhazia received the news of the passing of the head of the Nalchik city district administration, Taimuraz Akhokhov.

Taimuraz Borisovich was a man sincerely devoted to his work and to his native republic. Over the years of his service, he made a significant contribution to the development and improvement of the capital of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic and earned the respect of both colleagues and the residents of Nalchik.

Quite recently, during the Caucasus Investment Forum, an agreement was signed between the cities of Sukhum and Nalchik on establishing friendly relations and developing cooperation. This became an important step toward strengthening the ties between our peoples. I had the opportunity to communicate personally with Taimuraz Borisovich, and therefore the news of his passing has been especially painful.

Please convey our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Taimuraz Borisovich Akhokhov.”
