The event was also attended by the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan Andrey Nazarov, representatives from Nizhny Novgorod, and the Vladislav Ardzinba Sukhum International Airport and Abkhazian-Russian business. 

The renovated Dioskurov Embankment has become one of the most ambitious urban improvement projects in the capital in recent years. The main task was to preserve the atmosphere of the historic embankment while simultaneously creating a modern, comfortable, and durable urban environment. During the reconstruction, the historical appearance of the territory, green spaces, and the recognizable atmosphere of the city were preserved. The embankment has new walking areas, updated lighting, utility networks, relaxation spots, as well as spaces for cultural and public events.  

During the ceremony, a "Time Capsule" was laid with messages to future generations from students of 16 Sukhum schools. The capsule will be opened in 45 years – in the year of the 2555th anniversary of the city of Sukhum. Also, a symbolic procession of preschoolers and schoolchildren with the flags of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation took place.

The project was implemented with the participation of Russian regions and partners of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Tatarstan, Nizhny Novgorod, and the Vladislav Ardzinba Sukhum International Airport and Abkhazian-Russian entrepreneurs, who made a significant contribution to the renovation of one of the capital's key public spaces. As a token of gratitude, commemorative plaques have been unveiled on the embankment for all project participants. The reconstruction of the pier, carried out by Krasnodar Krai, will begin very soon.

The project is of particular importance for the preservation of Sukhum's historical heritage. During the work in the area of the Sukhum fortress, archaeological research was carried out, thanks to which artifacts related to the ancient history of the city were discovered. The discovered objects are planned to be preserved and made part of a new tourist route.

As part of the ceremony, flowers were laid at the monument to the Unknown Soldier and the monument to servicemen who carried out a peacekeeping mission in Abkhazia.
