Badra Gunba and Sergey Kiriyenko met with participants of the "Abkhazia Team" projects

President of the Republic of Abkhazia Badra Gunba and First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of Russia Sergey Kiriyenko held a meeting with participants of the "Team Abkhazia" projects, winners of the "Hospitable Abkhazia" and "Abkhazia Recommends" competitions.

Earlier, on July 1, a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the "Team Abkhazia" managers' competition was held, where the results of the registration campaign for the second season of the competition were summarized. The application period ran from April 14 to June 30, 2026.

3384 applications were received for the competition. This is a real indicator of citizens' trust in the project and their readiness to participate in the country's development. More than 84% of participants who answered the question about their attitude towards public service expressed interest in working for the benefit of the republic.

The second season showed a qualitative shift in the participant structure. Current leaders have joined the competition – heads of departments of the Presidential Administration, the Ministry of Social Security, and directors of state funds. The share of participants over 50 years old has almost tripled, from 2.6% to 8.8%, while the share of participants under 25 has decreased from 47% to 32%. The competition becomes a tool for professional growth for managers at all levels.

"I thank the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia, Sergey Vladilenovich Kiriyenko, for his personal attention to the 'Team Abkhazia' project and for the systematic work that allows us to build effective mechanisms for identifying and supporting managers." Special thanks to the "Russia — Land of Opportunities" platform and Andrey Anatolyevich Betin for sharing with us the best Russian methodologies and experience in conducting manager competitions. "I am confident that our cooperation will only strengthen," the President said.

At the "Mukhus" meeting, a tablet exhibition with visual materials on the projects was presented, including photographs, diagrams, screenshots, and infographics. Badra Gunba and Sergey Kiriyenko reviewed the presentations, spoke with the initiative leaders, and asked questions about the next stages of work.

Among the presented projects are the international tournament "Strength of Abkhazia" at the "Abkhazian Frontier" facility, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the liberation of Sukhum, the art illumination project for cultural and historical sites "Light of Culture," the environmental initiative "Clean Gagra," and others.

After viewing the exhibition, the conversation continued in an informal setting. The participants shared how the competitions helped them develop their own initiatives, expand their professional opportunities, and gain new experience.

Such meetings are an important feedback tool and allow for systematic work on developing the tourism and social potential of the republic, creating conditions for the self-realization of Abkhazia's residents and promoting qualitative changes in the hospitality sector.
