Dear compatriots!

Today we celebrate a wonderful holiday – the 2510th anniversary of our beloved capital, the city of Sukhum.

This is a truly unique date. There are very few cities in the world that can boast such a rich and ancient history. 

For every resident of Abkhazia, Sukhum is not just the capital. This is a symbol of our statehood, our history, our culture, and our love for the Motherland. Here, the connection between eras is especially palpable; here, the past and present live side by side, creating a unique atmosphere admired by all who have ever visited our city.

But Sukhum is, first and foremost, its people. Sincere, kind, talented, hospitable. It is you, with your hard work, care, and love, who make our city more beautiful, comfortable, and better every day.

Today, Sukhum is developing, being improved, and becoming more modern, while preserving its historical character and special atmosphere. Only yesterday, we reopened the renovated embankment after reconstruction – one of the most beloved places for residents and guests of the capital. This is further confirmation that Sukhum, like all of Abkhazia, has many true friends. We are always open to those who come to us with respect, sincerity, and good intentions, who share our desire to create, develop, and make people's lives better.

I am sure that our capital has many more good changes ahead. The country's leadership will continue to do everything necessary to make Sukhum an even more comfortable, modern, and beautiful city, worthy of its great history.
