Badra Gunba instructed to strengthen efforts to improve the quality of medical services

Healthcare is one of the priorities of the republic's leadership. This was stated by the President of Abkhazia, Badra Gunba, at a meeting with the Minister of Health today.

The Head of State noted the need to strengthen work and take serious steps to improve the quality of medical services, including ensuring an adequate level of drug provision for citizens undergoing treatment in medical institutions of the republic.

"What you did, being the chief doctor of the Sukhum Infectious Diseases Hospital, needs to be scaled up to the whole country," the President of Abkhazia instructed the minister.

The Head of State also stressed the need to develop programs aimed at preserving the health of citizens and ensuring the possibility of receiving high-quality medical care directly in Abkhazia.

In particular, the President instructed the Minister of Health to develop a program for in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures in Abkhazia on the basis of one of the republic's medical institutions.

Badra Gunba noted that every year significant funds are allocated for the treatment of citizens outside Abkhazia. According to him, if the necessary medical standards and requirements are met, some of these services should be available in the republic.

Special attention was paid at the meeting to the implementation of the children's hospital construction project.

The President instructed the Minister of Health to personally monitor the progress of the project and ensure constant interaction with the Capital Construction Department. The Head of State also instructed to report to him on the progress of construction and issues arising during the implementation of the project.
