Today we celebrate a special date — the Day of the Russian Peacekeeper in Abkhazia.

This is not just a memorable day for the people of Abkhazia. This is a day of deep respect and gratitude to those who, during one of the most difficult periods of our history, carried out a noble and responsible mission on our land — to preserve peace, ensure the safety of people, create conditions for peaceful life and the restoration of the country.

Russian peacekeepers have become a reliable guarantor of stability, helped prevent new tragedies and human casualties. Their service required courage, endurance, and a high sense of duty.

Today, we remember with gratitude all the Russian servicemen who served as part of the peacekeeping forces in Abkhazia. Special words of appreciation and respect are for those who gave their lives while fulfilling their military duty. Their feat will forever remain in our memory.
We bow our heads before the bright memory of the victims and express our sincere gratitude to their families and loved ones.

Abkhazia highly appreciates the contribution of the Russian Federation to the preservation of peace and security in our land. The memory of the peacekeeping mission, of the people who served the cause of peace honestly and selflessly, is an important part of our common history.
