Among those attending the meeting were Russian writer, screenwriter, and radio journalist Marina Moskvina, prose writer, screenwriter, and director Maxim Gureev, poet and researcher Igor Sidorenko, as well as artist Leonid Tishkov.

Welcoming the guests, Badra Gunba said he was sincerely pleased to see them in Abkhazia and thanked them for their attention to Abkhazian culture, literature, and above all, to the life and work of Daur Zantaria.

The Head of State emphasized that for Abkhazia, Daur Zantaria is not merely a talented writer, but a man who deeply loved his people and his culture. According to the President, the writer’s works vividly reflect the character of the Abkhaz people and a profound respect for humanity.

Badra Gunba also recalled that the outstanding Russian writer Andrei Bitov highly praised Daur Zantaria’s talent, describing him as an exceptionally bright and original figure who played a special role in the cultural dialogue between peoples.

The President expressed gratitude to the participants of the meeting for preserving the memory of Daur Zantaria, researching his life and literary legacy, and promoting his works among new generations of readers. He noted that this effort makes an important contribution to strengthening Abkhazian-Russian cultural and spiritual ties.

Concluding the meeting, the Head of State announced that he had signed a decree awarding the “Akhdz-Apsha” Order to Marina Moskvina, Maxim Gureev, and Igor Sidorenko for their special contribution to strengthening Abkhazian-Russian literary and cultural relations.
