In the near future, a number of operations will be carried out in Abkhazia, for which citizens were previously sent for treatment outside the republic. This was announced by Minister of Health Astamur Gunia at a meeting with President of Abkhazia Bad

According to him, new medical equipment has already been ordered for the republic's medical institutions. His admission will make it possible to fully provide appropriate medical care on the territory of Abkhazia and minimize the need to send citizens for treatment outside the country. First of all, ENT surgeries, and subsequently neurosurgical and traumatological interventions.

In addition, the minister spoke about plans to put in order field medical equipment, including mobile X-ray machines. This will make it possible to carry out preventive examinations and screenings of residents in the districts and villages of the republic on their own.

During a working visit to the Russian Federation and a visit to the N. N. Blokhin Oncology Center, an agreement was reached on comprehensive support and joint development of an oncological screening program in Abkhazia.
