Anna Gunia, Project Manager, Damei Jonua, IT Manager, and Dmitry Gabelia, Acting Director of the Abkhazia Team, presented the interim results of the work to the Head of State and demonstrated the capabilities of the Language Corpus application.

Currently, 390 translators are registered in the system, and the volume of translated materials has reached one and a half million sentences.

Artificial intelligence has already been adapted to the Abkhazian language and is showing good results: the translation as a whole accurately conveys the meaning of the source text.

The President was shown how the system works on complex informational texts. At the same time, the project team noted that individual language constructs are still not processed accurately enough by the neural network. To further improve the quality of translation and improve the system, work on the project will continue.

Badra Gunba highly appreciated the results achieved and noted the prospects of using modern technologies to preserve and develop the Abkhazian language.

"I am ready to continue supporting your project so that this work does not stop. Bringing the Abkhazian language into the digital space is vital. This will give him new opportunities for development and create conditions for full—fledged learning in the digital environment," the President stressed.

The project "The Abkhazian Language of the Future" is being implemented with the support of the President of Abkhazia, the Ministry of Education, the Repatriation Fund of Abkhazia and the Presidential Grants Fund of Russia.
