The Head of State stressed that during the Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia, Igor Akhba headed the Plenipotentiary Mission in Moscow, which helped break the information blockade, organize humanitarian aid and establish contacts with Russian public and political circles. After independence was recognized in 2008, he became the first Ambassador of Abkhazia to Russia, making a huge personal contribution to the protection of the country's interests and the development of Abkhazian diplomacy.
